HODGDON – Two Houlton girls suffered minor injuries Tuesday afternoon when the car they were in rolled over.

Amanda L. Mosley, 17, the driver, and Megan Lakin, 16, were taken to Houlton Regional Hospital by Mosley’s mother, Mary Stairs, for treatment of their injuries, according to Trooper Brian Harris of the Maine State Police. Both girls were wearing seat belts, he said.

Mosley complained of neck pain and a seat belt abrasion, and Lakin complained of head pain, Harris said.

The girls were traveling north on Hillview Avenue, also known as Hollywood Road, at about 2:15 p.m. when Mosley lost control of the 1989 Chevrolet as the car approached a corner on the dirt road.

The car began to fishtail as it went around the corner and went off the right side of the road where it rolled over.

A passer-by took the girls back to Mosley’s home on White Settlement Road.
