BANGOR – A deer jumped in front of a tractor-trailer truck early Tuesday morning on Interstate 95, prompting the driver to swerve into the median to miss the animal and causing the truck to roll over, according to State Trooper Seth Edwards.

Edwards said Bangor police responded and stayed at the scene until state police arrived.

The driver, Anthony Pasquazzi of Warwick, R.I. was not injured. However, it took several hours to clear the scene.

Edwards said the truck, owned by Ryder Co., was traveling north on Interstate 95 when it rolled over in the median between Broadway and Stillwater Avenue at 3:40 a.m.

State police and the Department of Transportation

managed traffic control for several hours until the truck could be removed from the median.

The truck was coming from Rhode Island to deliver goods to CVS at the Bangor Mall, the trooper said.
