CAMDEN – Targetect and Know Technology, two midcoast technology firms, have merged and will operate under the name Know Technology.

Know Technology’s founder and president, Steve Hand, and Targetect’s president, Reade Brower, emphasized that the services and offerings of each company will continue under the merger and clients will notice more options. Some efficiencies from the merger are anticipated in back-office operations.

Founded in 1998 and based in Rockland, Targetect’s facility provides Web site and SQL database hosting on both Windows and Linux platforms. Also founded in 1998, Camden-based Know Technology provides network and systems design, contract CIO, security analysis and multimedia development.

Hand will be the chief operating officer of the new merged entity, while Brower will be chief executive officer.
