Miles throws no-hitter, Clark homers in Waldo’s 3-0 victory

BELFAST – Tyler Miles tossed a no-hitter, striking out 17 and walking one, to help Waldo to a 3-0 win over Knox Suburban in the District 2 Little League All-Star tournament for 11- and 12-year-olds on Saturday.

Bill Clark jolted a solo home run for Waldo while Matt Bagley doubled.

At Belfast, Jake Arthers smacked two home runs, drove in six and scored three times to pace Belfast.

Tyler Bowen added a home run, scored twice and struck out eight in the four-inning game. Joey Mathieu scored four runs.

Micah Ludwig and Marcus Benner rapped a single apiece for Waldoboro.

Christian Pieri smacked a home run and a triple while Gordon Fischer singled and scored a run for Camden-Rockport.

Michael Marsh doubled and scored for Rockland.

Brian Philbrook doubled, singled twice and knocked in three runs for Belfast while Tyler Bowen roped a triple and a single and drove in one. Danny Bowen singled and had two RBIs.

Jamie Courville singled for Lincoln County.

Cody McInnis hit two singles and a triple for Bangor West. Kyle Savage doubled and singled. Travis Wood hit a single with a RBI.

Camden Murray hit three singles, a double and drove in four runs for Hampden while John Wentworth drove in three with a triple and a single. Jake Hitchings doubled twice and drove in three.

Tony Raymond singled three times for Orono-Veazie while Mike Scott singled twice and had three RBIs. Dan Ohno rapped two singles and knocked in two.

Tylor Harriman doubled, singled and drove in three runs while Hardy singled twice. Ben Caldwell addd two singles and an RBI.

Travis Estes led Hermon with two singles and two RBIs.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Ben Silver hurled a five-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks to earn the win for Bangor.

Scott Hackett sparked Bangor in its nine-run second inning with a three-run double. Tyson Barron drove in three runs on four singles. Keith Clifford doubled twice, singled twice and added an RBI. Ben Estabrook singled twice and contributed an RBI double.

Hermon’s Brian Perry got as far as second base on a walk and a steal.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Old Town turned a double play with runners on second and third in the bottom of the seventh, and Cory Estes struck out the final batter to seal the win.

Estes scattered five hits and struck out seven. He also hit an RBI single. Nathan Lonko added a double and a single.

Brandon Hardy led Brewer with a triple.

Andrew Patterson had an RBI double to pace Orono-Veazie while Alex Means singled twice and Kevin McAvoy doubled.

Casey Belcher hit three singles and knocked in two runs for Hampden. Littlefield had two singles with an RBI and Amanda Palmer tripled with two RBIs. Ashley Gott doubled and drove in three RBIs and Tara Utech singled twice.

Sami Morin hit a home run for Old Town and Meisha Lynch singled.

Kristen Sprague smacked four singles for Glenburn. Ashley Smith hit a home run and two triples. Erica Hanson tripled and added two singles, while Sara Pevento hit three singles.

Erica Tweedie doubled twice for Bangor West and Kristin Parker singled twice.

Whitney Leland had a double, a single and an RBI for Old Town while Charlotte Lonko rapped two singles.

Alyssa Bates stroked five singles and a double for Orono-Veazie while Denali Graham added five singles. Lauren Dwyer socked a two-run triple and three singles and Chloe Paul had four singles and three RBIs.

Alexis Casey led Glenburn-Levant with a double, three singles and three RBIs. Kacy Thibodeau-Harvey added a double, two singles and two RBIs.

Katy Coffin ripped a two-run double for Bangor. Melissa Mower drove in two runs on a double and a single. Mariah Cassum tallied an RBI, a double and a single.

Tessa Clark added a single and a triple and drove in two for Calais while Alex McVicar and Hillary Hollingdale contributed a double apiece. Clark held Sunrise to three hits with her five-strikeout effort.

Breanna Alexander, Jenna Beal and Clarissa West had a single each for Sunrise. Alexander drove in the run.

Breanna Smith doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs for Ellsworth. Alicia Lofton added three singles and an RBI and Ashley Smith tripled, singled and drove in a run.
