2 secret indictments lead to arrests

ROCKLAND – Two people indicted by a Knox County Superior Court grand jury last month have been arrested. The indictments, which had been kept secret until the accused were arrested, were for Kathleen M. Heckel, 59, of Islesboro and Douglas Vincent Bickford, 35, of Waldoboro.

ROCKLAND – Two people indicted by a Knox County Superior Court grand jury last month have been arrested.

The indictments, which had been kept secret until the accused were arrested, were for Kathleen M. Heckel, 59, of Islesboro and Douglas Vincent Bickford, 35, of Waldoboro.

Heckel was indicted for theft, for allegedly taking $2,771 in U.S. currency from the Farnsworth Art Museum.

Bickford was indicted for trafficking in prison contraband, which was marijuana.
