MACHIAS – The Washington County grand jury has indicted Bradley Demolet, 18, of Calais on a charge of gross sexual assault.
Demolet was indicted on July 11, but the information could not be released until Monday because of a problem with paperwork, Assistant District Attorney Paul Cavanaugh said Monday.
Demolet is charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, whom Cavanaugh described as an acquaintance.
Cavanaugh said Demolet allegedly began a sexual relationship with the girl earlier this year and thought of her as his girlfriend.
