AUGUSTA – Police on Monday released the names of two motorists killed in a head-on collision last weekend on Route 3 near the Vassalboro line.

The victims were identified as Jeffrey Kelly, 19, of New Jersey and Robert Seeley, 54, of China.

Witnesses told police that Kelly was traveling east Sunday morning when he crossed over into the westbound lane. Seeley, who was headed west, tried to avoid Kelly’s vehicle but was unsuccessful.

Both drivers, who were alone in their vehicles, were dead at the scene.
