BANGOR – Binney & Smith, manufacturer of Crayola art materials, has selected the Maine Discovery Museum as one of 15 children’s museums nationwide to participate in the 2002-03 Crayola Dream-Makers Program.

Museum staff will be working with teachers, parents and pupils in grades kindergarten through eight to coordinate this national art education program in the Bangor area. This year’s Dream-Makers theme, “Weaving What We Are,” was developed to help children learn how culture and environment shape their lives and to better understand the abstract qualities of character development through concrete, hands-on art activities. Activities will include professional development workshops for teachers, parent-child workshops and an exhibition of children’s art at MDM.

For more information, contact the museum at 262-7200.
