BIDDEFORD – The death of a boy whose body was pulled from the Saco River was officially classified as a drowning.

Christopher Bolduc, 11, of Biddeford suffered a head injury but the cause of death was accidental drowning, according to a report Thursday by Dr. Margaret Greenwald, Maine’s chief medical examiner.

Biddeford police believe Bolduc had jumped off the Pine Street bridge, which is a popular swimming spot on the river.

Bolduc last was seen by friends who had been jumping into the river with him late Tuesday afternoon.
