ADDISON – The Aug. 6 annual meeting of the Friends of Nash Island Light will feature an informal slide show and presentation by Peter Ralston, executive vice president of the Island Institute.

Ralston co-founded the Island Institute with Philip Conkling and has served as art director of the institute’s Island Journal from its inception in 1984. He was the creator of the Maine Lights Program, the program through which the Friends of Nash Island Light acquired the light station in 1998.

Ralston’s photography has appeared in more than 85 magazines and books, including most Wyeth family arts books, and his work has been exhibited in galleries around the world.

Ralston’s slide show, titled “Sightings and Lights” will be followed by a question-and-answer period.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Union Church on Mooseneck Road in South Addison. The program is free and open to the public and will be followed by refreshments.
