Trask jumps out early for win
At Wiscasset Raceway Saturday night, Chelsea’s Dan Trask didn’t waste any time getting to the front during the 50-lap heavyweight demon class feature at Wiscasset Raceway Saturday night.
Trask started third but slipped inside pole-sitter Steve Peirpont of Cushing coming out of turn two on the first lap and he went on to claim his ninth win of the season.
Trask and Peirpont pulled away from the field and when fast-charging Dale Chadbourne of Woolwich broke a belt after climbing from 13th to fifth in just 10 laps, they were free of any challenges.
The margin of Trask’s victory was eight car lengths over Peirpont.
Adam Chadbourne, who started second, crossed the finish line in third place. Trask, Peirpont and Dale Chadbourne were the only drivers who finished on the lead lap.
Albert Westhaver of Bristol finished fourth and fifth-place went to Appleton’s Will Collins.
The father and son team of Charlie and Chuck Colby of Newcastle posted triumphs in their respective classes, the pro stock and superlimited.

McKeage posts second career win
At Scarborough’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Gorham’s Dan McKeage led from start to finish to post his second career win in the NASCAR Pro Series 40-lap feature.
Jason Fowler appeared ready to challenge McKeage as he moved up from sixth to third but he spun.
Steve Berry, also of Gorham, finished second and 17-year-old Alan Tardiff of Lyman crossed the finish line in third place. Gorham’s Jim Manchester and Windham’s Bobby Babb rounded out the top five.

Burgess survives at Unity
At Unity Raceway Saturday night, Ricky Burgess survived a wreck-filled street stock feature to cruise home to his fourth triumph.
Waterville’s Burgess held off Bill Bowley of Canaan and Adam Gilman, also of Canaan.
Fairfield’s Andy Turbovsky and Anson’s Marty Leblanc Jr. finished fourth and fifth in the 27- car field.
On Sunday at Unity, Oakland’s Skip Connors rode home to victory in the 25-lap street stock feature with Anson’s Tony Nile nosing out Belgrade’s Hal Stratton for second.
