Find new priorities

On July 25 both houses of Congress passed by overwhelming margins and sent to the president a bill on corporate fraud. This is landmark legislation, provoked by a multi-billion-dollar corporate crime wave that threatens the financial security of millions of Americans.

It should have been your lead story the following day. Instead, you buried it on page A9 and wasted half of your front page (including two color photos) reporting the escape and swift recapture of a petty thief in Washington County.

Please rethink your priorities. Your readers deserve better. We can read about “cops and robbers” in the tabloids.
