Orrington principal retires after 17 years

ORRINGTON – The community’s middle school principal for the past 17 years has retired and the search is on for a successor.

Center Drive Middle School Principal James White’s retirement took effect at the end of July, according to Superintendent Allan Snell. Before White was hired as middle school principal here, he taught history at Brewer High School, where he also headed the history department, Snell said.

The opening is being posted in-house and advertised outside the school department, Snell said. He said school officials hope to bring a successor on board before the new school year begins in late August.
