WINDSOR – Two men were struck and killed by a pickup truck Wednesday, police said.
Albert Flood, 56, of Waterville and James Moshier, 38, of Cornville were killed instantly, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Public Safety Department.
The men, workers for a tree company, had just stepped out of their truck and were standing in Tyler Road when the accident happened around 6:30 a.m., McCausland said.
The driver of the pickup, Sean Dixon, 17, of Whitefield, told state troopers that he was blinded by the morning sun, McCausland said.
State police continued to investigate a two-vehicle collision less than three hours later on U.S. 201 in Vassalboro that left one of the drivers dead.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy from Winslow, was thrown from his car into a cornfield, McCausland said. The teen-ager’s car crossed the centerline and hit another vehicle head-on, McCausland said. The driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.
