PRESQUE ISLE – Police have interviewed suspects in connection with damage done last weekend to a Boy Scout building on Chapman Street.
According to a spokesman for Troop 808, sometime last Saturday night or early Sunday morning a vehicle struck the building, nearly tearing off one corner.
The building, which was donated to the troop, is used for meetings and equipment storage.
On Wednesday afternoon, while making repairs to the building, Scouts and adult volunteers found a section of taillight lens in the debris, according to Sgt. Joey Seeley of the Presque Isle Police Department.
While they were there, a pickup truck pulled into the yard, turned around and left. The workers noticed that a piece of the truck’s taillight was missing.
They wrote down the license plate number, and police were able to locate the truck Wednesday afternoon.
Officer Craig Holder of the Presque Isle Police Department is conducting the investigation.
