Chubbuck holds off Benjamin

UNITY – Scott Chubbuck, a Pro All Stars Series regular, decided to skip that circuit’s race in New Hampshire on Saturday in favor of the first round of Unity Raceway’s Triple Crown Series.

The decision paid off as the Wiscasset driver won a stirring duel with Morrill’s Travis Benjamin and pocketed the $1,500 payday.

Chubbuck took the lead on a lap 5 restart and held the lead until the finish. Benjamin mounted a serious challenge late in the race, but Chubbuck held him off by inches.

Dean Fuller of Albion finished third while Scott Albee of Norridgewock and Bub Raven of Thorndike rounded out the top five.
