Thank you for printing Robert Shetterly’s commentary on the opinion page (“Strong leaders need heart,” BDN, July 29). Reading it through thoughtfully to the end, it expressed so well the “truth of the matter,” causing for many of us fearsome apprehension regarding the machinations going on in Washington, D.C.

And, reading the last sentence, I have had the same misgivings about our present “Wizard of Oz” sitting in his hideaway pulling strings to manage a puppet.
