ELLSWORTH – Dr. Walter Muth has joined the medical staff of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital as a full-time ophthalmologist. He has practiced the last four summers on an interim basis with Dr. Lawrence Piazza. Muth has joined Coastal Eye Care, which has offices in Blue Hill.

ELLSWORTH – Dr. Walter Muth has joined the medical staff of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital as a full-time ophthalmologist. He has practiced the last four summers on an interim basis with Dr. Lawrence Piazza. Muth has joined Coastal Eye Care, which has offices in Blue Hill.

Muth came to Maine from his medical practice of 27 years in Newark and Sodus, N.Y. He received his medical degree from the University of Rochester and performed his internship at Presbyterian University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. His residency in ophthalmology was completed at the University of Colorado, and he received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University.

Muth has an appointment to the University of Rochester and is an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y.

Muth and his wife, Carol, have two grown children.
