Eleven Fort Kent-area residents have completed Hospice of Aroostook volunteer training.

They are Bernette Babin of Fort Kent, Bunny Berube of Fort Kent, Rita Bouchard of Eagle Lake, Sheila Churchill of Fort Kent Mills, Theresa Dionne of Madawaska, Diane Gaundreau of Fort Kent, Robin Jandreau of Wallagrass, Jackie Lozier of Fort Kent Mills, Jeannine Oakes of Fort Kent, Rita Pelletier of New Canada and Marie St. Pierre of Wallagrass.

Hospice training includes topics such as confidentiality, communication, family interaction, medical care, comfort measures, and psychology of death, grief and bereavement.

Training presenters include a social worker, lawyer, physical therapist, hospice nurses, clergy, hospice staff and experienced hospice volunteers.
