Just when I think I cannot read about another child being snatched, abused and killed, or another animal being wounded, beaten and left to die, I read about “the angel in this cruel world” – my name for the horse so brutally attacked at the University of Maine. Just imagine her lying in her stall alone and in pain.

To whoever did this filthy act, I want you to know that you are even more of a coward than you know you are. May this “angel” recover with the help of veterinarians and the prayers of the rest of us.
