HERMON – Jamie Watson of Gouldsboro took advantage of a restart on the 30th lap to overtake Harrington’s Dave McLaughlin and post his first Pro Stock win at Speedway 95 on Saturday night.

Watson lined up for the restart in the preferred outside groove and moved past McLaughlin.

McLaughlin held on for second while John Phippen Jr. of Bar Harbor was third. Andy Saunders of Ellsworth and Tim Allen of Bar Harbor rounded out the top five.

Robbins tops at Wiscasset

At Wiscasset Raceway, Bryan Robbins of Liberty took over sole possession of his division’s points lead by capturing the Yudys Tire Strictly Street 50 on Saturday night.

Bill Collins of Appleton finished second in the race while Dean Rice of Nobleboro was third. Rob Trial of Nobleboro wound up fourth and Dale Chadbourne of Woolwich was fifth.

Babb captures Beech Ridge race

At Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Bobby Babb of Windham raced side by side with Tom Oliver of Scarborough for nine laps, then ran down Alan Tardiff of Lyman to win the NASCAR Pro Series feature on Saturday.

Babb finally passed Tardiff with six laps to go and led the rest of the race.

Tardiff finished second while Oliver was third. Steve Carrier of Saco ended up fourth and Dan McKeage of Gorham took fifth.

Ordway tops Oxford field

At Oxford Plains Speedway, Mike Ordway of Fremont, N.H., led the final 28 laps en route to his second straight title in the International Super Modified Association’s Maine Classic 100 on Saturday night.

Dave McKnight of Brampton, Ontario, finished second in the race while Greg Furlong of Hannibal, N.Y., wound up third. Jim Shirey of Oberlin, Ohio, and Chris Perley of Rowley, Mass., were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Nelson takes Unity Pro Stock

At Unity Raceway, Steve Nelson of Albion pulled into first in the eighth lap of the race and would staying there throughout several cautions to win the PTM Pro Stock event. Randy Turner and Scott Albee claimed second and third, respectively.

After a pole-position start, Mike Hodgkins of Jefferson finished first in the Super Sportsman event and with the win took over the points lead.

Gove, Calder win at Winterport

At Winterport Dragway, Scott Gove of Dennysville claimed first in the Super Pro Eliminator race while Old Town’s Linda Fuller followed up in second. Winning the Pro Eliminator was Russell Calder of New Brunswick.

Matt Harper of Wiscasset was able to stay in the top three for two events, taking second in the Regular Bracket Race on Saturday and third in Sunday’s Super Pro Eliminator.
