Police were still looking for information Monday after 142 marble flooring squares, valued at more than $2,500, were reported stolen from a Hellier Street building over the weekend.
Neither neighbors nor residents had noticed any suspicious activity between Aug. 12 and Aug 16, when the squares were allegedly taken, Bangor police Officer Steve Jordan said.
The 72 white, 18-inch squares and the 70 yellow, 12-inch squares were described as heavy and not easily moved.
There was no sign of entry into the basement as windows were still covered with plastic and bulkhead doors from the outside were still covered in spider webs, Jordan said.
A blue 1999 Discovery 199 Old Town Canoe was stolen from atop the truck of a Bangor man while the truck was parked in his Cottage Street driveway Saturday morning, Bangor police said.
Police did not immediately have any suspects in the theft of the single-seat canoe valued at more than $200.
The boat was taken between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday.
