For the fourth time today, a strident, piercing, almost frightening voice has come into my living room. It belongs to a stern-looking person who is clearly no friend of Susan Collins and wants me to vote for Chellie Pingree. She’s blathering something about how she’s “sick of double talk from politicians.”

I, too, am sick of it. So I did my homework, and checked the voting record of Sen. Collins. I thought back through my experiences of more than a decade, working in Maine’s rural hospitals. If Pingree has an ounce of professionalism in her campaign, she will remove this ranting nurse from my television screen. Get the facts and only then is she welcome to tell me who is the friend to Maine businesses, including hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies. I’m voting for my senator, Susan Collins.
