KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Chiefs announced another round of cuts on Tuesday, and one casualty was former University of Maine tight end Chad Hayes.

The Chiefs waived three rookie free agents, including Hayes. The others were running back Jarmar Julian of San Jose State and wide receiver Kirk Rogers of Division III Hardin-Simmons.

Hayes, a 6-foot-6, 254-pounder from Old Town, caught 39 passes for 510 yards and scored nine touchdowns for the Black Bears last year.

The moves reduce the Kansas City roster to 65 players – 77 including 12 exemptions for NFL Europe players. The Chiefs must reduce their roster to 53 players by Sunday. A five-man practice squad can be announced on Monday.
