An antique shop called The Barn Window has opened on U.S. Route 202, just north of the Troy General Store.
Located in a timber frame barn in Troy, the shop sells antiques as well as an assortment of art, furniture, farm tools and architectural items.
Shop owner Sue Kischitz welcomes families to come browse. There is an old schoolhouse area set up for children to play in while parents shop.
The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 12-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 948-5569.

Guerin Associates provides government, corporate and private clients throughout New England with a wide range of environmental remediation, and above and underground storage tank services.
Ira Dodge of Presque Isle will manage the daily operations of the new office, located at 636 Mapleton Road.

The Anything Goes Gift Shop has opened at 115 Park St. in Milo, across from the Maine Savings Credit Union.
The shop, owned by Patty Jones, features gourmet food items, candles, bath and body products, NASCAR items, novelty toys and more.
One specialty item offered through the store is My Grandma’s Coffee Cake of New England, which comes in eight flavors, and has been featured in The New York Times and Good Housekeeping magazine among other publications. The shop also provides gift-wrapping and offers customized gift baskets or boxes for various occasions.
The shop is open from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, but orders are taken from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily at 943-8733. A grand opening will be held 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.
