Sticking to it

When Rosemary (Momma) Baldacci passed away this winter, it was uncertain what would happen to the breadstick company she started with her daughter, whose name is also Rosemary. Mother and daughter did all the baking, delivering and marketing themselves, and the younger Rosemary said that when her mother died, “it was impossible to continue – she was the company.” After time passed, Rosemary decided to honor her mother’s memory by reviving the company, and now, the baking and delivery are handled by a firm in Lisbon. A Bangor tradition, Momma’s Famous Bread Sticks are available in all Hannaford and Shop ‘n Save stores north of Lewiston for $2.99.

Montes on the move

Friday will be the last day to grab a wrap at Montes International Catering’s Hammond Street location. The shop will close for two weeks and reopen Tuesday, Sept. 17, in its new location at 72-80 Columbia St. in Bangor. The new space will have more seating room for customers. For information, call 945-3990.
