The Maine Chapter of the National Association of Investors Corp. will hold its Investors Fair 2002 on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Holiday Inn By The Bay in Portland.

The event, which is open to the public, will begin at 7:45 a.m. with a continental breakfast, followed by the keynote speech by Girard Cassidy of RBC Capital Markets of Portland. Three major corporations in the Northeast will give the investors presentations about their companies: Green Mountain Coffee, ICN Pharmaceuticals of NYC, and Unum-Provident. A buffet lunch will follow at noontime.

Two workshops will be offered in the afternoon. The first will feature Richard Loth, an author of several books on reading financial reports. He will speak about investment clubs and pose the question “Are They Practicing What They Preach?” The second workshop will feature Rich Beaubien of Massachusetts, who will give demonstrations of new software programs made available to investors by InvestWare.

The day will end at approximately 3:45 p.m. with wrap-up comments and door prizes.

The cost to attend the event is $30 per person. Checks can be made out and sent to the Maine Chapter of NAIC, P.O. Box 4526, Portland ME 04112.
