Old Town appoints teachers, coaches

OLD TOWN – Schools in Old Town will welcome new personnel when classes convene in September. Appointments are:

. Mary Baker, education technician, special education, Herbert Sargent Elementary School. She was a substitute teacher and education technician for Union 90.

. Lee Anne Birmingham, grade six teacher, J.A. Leonard Middle School. She earned a master’s degree this year from the University of Maine.

. Joshua Curtis, art teacher, Old Town High School. He graduated from the University of Maine in May.

. Davina Denno, special education teacher, J.A. Leonard Middle School. She taught in Orrington and Orland.

. Christie Everett, English teacher, Old Town High School. She taught at Bangor Christian School.

. Cynthia Fowlow, guidance counselor, Old Town High School. Her previous position was with SAD 46 in Dexter.

. Keith Holland, social studies teacher and varsity football coach, Old Town High School. He returns after teaching a year at Bonny Eagle High School in Buxton.

. Eric Kelley, educational technician, special education, J.A. Leonard Middle School. He was a substitute teacher for three years.

. Andy Kempton, education technician, special education, Old Town High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine.

. Lt. Col. Amedeo Lauria, Junior ROTC program officer. He has 29 years of military experience.

. Laurie Leighton, education technician, Jefferson Street School. She is a graduate of the University of Maine.

. Bruce Moores, education technician, Old Town High School. He is a graduate of the University of Maine.

. Master Sgt. Michael Olsen, Junior ROTC program officer.

. Brenda Parker, half-time special education teacher, Old Town High School. She has worked in the school department since 1990.

. Momodon Lamin Sisay Jr., assistant football coach. He is a University of Maine student.

. Kathryn Small, part-time music teacher, J.A. Leonard Middle School. She taught in Freeport and Portland.

. Douglas Springer, varsity boys swim coach, Old Town High School.

. Mike St. Peter, varsity girls soccer coach, Old Town High School.

. Greg Thibodeau, junior varsity girls soccer coach, Old Town High School. He also coached varsity girls basketball.

. Sean Wasson, technology education teacher, Old Town High School. He taught in Hermon and Milo, and teaches at Eastern Maine Technical College.

. Neil Williams, junior varsity boys soccer coach, Old Town High School.

. Kimberly Worster, girls soccer coach, J.A. Leonard Middle School. She is a student teacher and coached at the Old Town-Orono YMCA.

. Richard Brown, football coach, J.A. Leonard Middle School. An OTHS graduate, he has coached basketball and baseball in Milford.

. Susan Linscott, grade eight science teacher, J.A. Leonard Middle School. She has taught in Lincoln, and Pawtucket, R.I.

. Melissa Marszalek, field hockey coach, J.A. Leonard Middle School. She is a student at Husson College.

. Patrick Munzing, freshman football coach, Old Town High School. He coached baseball and basketball in Gardiner.

. Christine Chadwick, education technician, J.A. Leonard Middle School. She did student teaching in art in Orono, Veazie and Bangor.

. Alison Dufour, education technician. She has taught grades one and two in Old Town.

Resigning their positions in Old Town schools were Paul Bouchard, guidance director, Old Town High School; Robert Brennan, football coach, J.A. Leonard Middle School; Annette Brickley, grade eight teacher, J.A. Leonard; Matt Byther, boys varsity swim coach, Old Town High; Tara Frazier, intermediate elementary teacher, regional program; Judy Heininger, art teacher, Old Town High; Kimberly Lane, education technician, J.A. Leonard; Tom Leonard, grade six teacher, J.A. Leonard; and Anne Moody, education technician, J.A. Leonard.
