AUGUSTA – Old Fort Western’s 2002-2003 School Brochure is now available. The brochure describes 28 prescheduled programs designed to support Maine Learning Results Social Studies and other curriculum goals.
The programs are available either at the fort itself, in the fort’s learning gallery at Augusta City Hall, in public or private school classrooms, or where home-schoolers or other learners meet, either seasonally or year-round. Last year, more than 20,000 students participated in Old Fort Western School Programs.
New for the 2002-2003 school year are:
. Post-visit learning outcomes assessment materials, which will be included in the confirmation packets for all programs.
. In school residencies for educators who would like to use theater arts to help achieve social studies goals.
. Pre-ordered, prepackaged gift shop “sets” to replace taking the time to shop during a school program or visit.
A summary version of the brochure has been mailed to more than 9,000 teachers state-wide. The full brochure is now available at www.oldfortwestern.org. Click on “School Brochure” to download a copy using Adobe Acrobat Reader or call the fort at 626-2385 for information or a copy by mail.
