BANGOR – The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved a low-interest loan of $310,000 for Womancare-Aegis, which is based in Dover-Foxcroft. The funding is being made available through USDA’s Rural Development Agency.

The money will be used to build a new administrative-services building to enhance the ability of Womancare-Aegis staff members to provide services in confidential space, to conduct meetings, to offer public educational programs, and to hold administrative functions, according to U.S. Rep. John Baldacci in announcing the funding. The low-interest loan is expected to be financed for 40 years at an interest rate of 4.75 percent. Womancare-Aegis serves about 500 individuals each year.
