Swanton goal lifts Limestone

EASTON – Dale Swanton’s unassisted goal just 3:49 into the game, a low shot from the top of the penalty area that glanced in off the left post, gave Limestone a 1-0 schoolboy soccer victory over Easton on Wednesday.

Jake Manner made 19 saves on 27 shots in posting the shutout while Danny Warren made 19 on 28 shots for 2-5-1 Easton.

Fort Fairfield 8, Katahdin 1

At Fort Fairfield, Mickey Browning knocked in three goals and Jesse Sayers scored two as the unbeaten Tigers roared.

Josh Turner, Matt Oakes and Ryan Helstrom provided a goal each for Fort Fairfield. Aaron Kennison and Kris Osgood had an assist each. Tyler Bernaiche made seven saves on 17 shots.

Patrick Willett scored off a pass from Alex McAvoy for the Cougars of Sherman Station. Burton Brayall made seven saves on 30 shots.

Madawaska 5, Wisdom 0

At Madawaska, five different players had a goal each as the Owls soared.

Steve Soucy, Billy Roy, Steve Guerrette, Miles Mournealt and Peter Gerard all scored for 2-4-1 Madawaska. John Cowie faced three shots in net, recording no saves.

Kenny Corriveau stopped 13 of 26 shots for the 0-6 Pioneers of St. Agatha.
