Tami Kennedy of Portland has been promoted to director of cultural programming and audience development at Maine Public Broadcasting Corp. in Lewiston. Kennedy has been employed with the MPBC for eight years. In her new position she will oversee cultural programming and work as a liaison between the television and marketing departments to build and promote programs and services.

Camden National Corp. has named Joanne Campbell of Camden to the company’s newly created position of senior vice president-compliance, Audit & Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). Campbell has been in the mortgage banking business for 20 years, and joined Camden National six years ago. In her new capacity she will ensure regulatory compliance and audit for the company. She also will concentrate on providing financing or technical assistance to organizations creating housing, services and jobs in low- and moderate-income areas of the state.

Diane Perry of Sanford has been appointed director of purchasing at Dragon Cement and Concrete. She will manage purchasing and stores at Dragon’s Thomaston plant in her new position. In 1993 she received an undergraduate degree from Husson College in Bangor, and in 2000 she earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Maine.

Henry “Hank” Berg has been appointed president and chief operating officer at Taction, a call center based in Waldoboro. Berg is charged with establishing operational and financial goals, and will develop systems to ensure high-level performance in sales, marketing, human relations, finance, technology and operations. He joined the company in 2001 as executive vice president and has more than 21 years’ experience in operations management and product development in a variety of high-tech industries.

Amy McHugh has been named public relations coordinator and special assistant to the president at Eastern Maine Technical College in Bangor. In her new position she will be responsible for all public relations-media relations at EMTC, as well as several internal and external publications. McHugh holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston University. She has formerly worked as a news anchorwoman and reporter for WVII-TV in Bangor and WLNE-TV in Providence, R.I.

Keith Sperrey of Washburn has been promoted to lead personal lines underwriter at MMG Insurance Co. in Presque Isle. Sperrey began his career with MMG Insurance Co. as an associate underwriter in 1999. He received his associate’s degree from Northern Maine Technical College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Karen Peers has been named branch manager and client relations leader at the KeyBank branch in Caribou. In her new position, Peers is responsible for client service and satisfaction as well as branch operations. Previously, she was a sales and service associate at the Caribou branch. Peers has a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Karl Anderson of Orrington has been named a commercial lender with Bangor Savings Bank. Anderson was promoted to trust and investment adviser in July 2001 and had transferred from Bangor Securites, Inc. He brings with him prior lending experience with the Bank of Boston. Anderson has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine.

Correction: In a personnel column published in the business section Friday, Amy McHugh was listed as public relations coordinator at Eastern Maine Technical College. She recently left that position and is now working under the name Amy Erickson as weekend anchor at WABI-TV Channel 5 Bangor.
