David Grygiel, assistant pro at Portland Country Club in Falmouth, won the New England PGA Taylor made-adidas Assistants Championship by four strokes Thursday.

Grygiel shot a 1-under-par 70 Thursday at Oak Hill Country Club in Fitchburg, Mass., for a two-day total of 139. He opened with a 3-under-par 69 at Red Tail Golf Club in Devens, Mass., Wednesday.

Troy Pare of Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, Mass., was second with 72-71-143, with Bradley’s Mike Baker of Kebo Valley Golf Club in Bar Harbor third at 72-72-144.

Grygiel earned $2,081 and a berth in the national assistants championship Oct. 24-27 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., against winners from the other 40 PGA sections around the U.S.
