Maine should be ashamed to have a wildlife-snaring program – one run with public tax dollars no less.
A recent article in Audubon magazine makes it painfully clear that the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is hostage to the special interests now snaring the Maine Legislature. Have the courage to stand up for what’s right and listen to the biologists who oppose this.
I am proud that New Hampshire doesn’t run a snaring program and hope we never do. It would surely bring the same embarrassment to our state as you must be feeling now.
