NIAGARA, N.Y. – The University of Maine volleyball team improved to 2-1 with a five-set win over the host school of the Niagara Tournament Friday.

The Black Bears banged out a 30-26, 33-31, 17-30, 23-30, 15-10 victory.

Leah Guidinger had 21 kills and Carmen Gabriel added 16 kills and 20 assists to lead Maine.

Marina Ivanovic topped the Black Bears with seven blocks and five service aces. Ashley Marble had 27 assists and four service aces.

Niagara fell to 1-4.
