ROCKLAND – Rockland councilors say they want at least $26,000 for a 1934 Plymouth they wound up owning last month.

During their meeting Monday night, the councilors authorized City Manager Tom Hall to attempt to sell the Plymouth hot rod for $26,000 as the minimum bid.

The city acquired the street rod from a resident who defaulted on a loan.

Hall said the $26,000 would cover the balance of the loan and the cost of legal fees.

He made no promises about finding a bidder, however.

“Our difficulty in the midcoast is finding the right buyer,” Hall said.
