STANDISH – Adil Mootassem scored off a pass from Juan Murphy to give the UMaine-Fort Kent Bengals a 1-0 men’s soccer victory over the St. Joseph’s College Monks Sunday.
Chad Bouchard got the shutout for the winners. Jeff Yaeger was the ‘keeper for the Monks.

At Standish Saturday, UMass-Boston’s Chad Drigo scored the winner 28:30 into the first half to lift the 1-2 Beacons.
David Lococo assisted on the goal and Michael Jady made seven saves on nine shots.
Jeff Yaeger stopped five of 17 shots for the 1-1 Monks.
Southern Maine 5, Thomas 1
At Waterville Saturday, five different players tallied a goal each to lead the Huskies.
Mike Stowe led the way with a goal and an assist for 1-0-1 Southern Maine of Gorham. Ian Frank, Andy Budelman, Zach Ansley, and Taylor Lance netted a goal each. Jonathan Marsden and Jeff Levesque dished out an assist each, and Dan Hills made nine saves on 13 shots.
Dan Burdin scored off a pass from Ben Wheeler for the 2-3 Terriers. Ryan Conley turned back 15 of 23 shots.
Colby 1, Bates 0
At Lewiston Saturday, Brian Kelly provided the game’s only goal as the White Mules blanked rival Bates.
Andrew Danzinger got the shutout for Colby, making four saves on 13 shots.
James Kenly rejected two out of seven shots for the Bobcats.
Maine 0, Rider 0 (2OT)
At Orono Saturday, the Black Bears and Rider University fought to a double-overtime scoreless tie.
Josh Sjostrom made three saves on eight shots for 1-2-2 Maine, while Brian Gill countered with two saves on 11 shots for 0-2-1 Rider.
MMA 3, UM-Presque Isle 1
At Castine Sunday, Derek Wilding and Seth Warner tallied a goal each as the Mariners rallied to top the Owls.
Warner also had an assist for 1-2 Maine Maritime, and Joe Flagg provided a goal. Dan Loebel made four saves on eight shots.
Ben Goodwin scored for 2-4 UMaine-Presque Isle. Tim Dolley rejected eight of 14 shots.
Husson 2, UM-Presque Isle 1
At Bangor Saturday, Lee Bennett and Hide Adachi had a goal each as the Braves edged the Owls.
Shane Coffin dished out two assists for 1-1 Husson. Matt Goodman made six saves on seven shots.
Brad Holibard provided the goal for 2-2 UMaine-Presque Isle. Tim Dolley stopped seven out of 12 shots.

Husson 2, UM-Presque Isle
At Bangor Saturday, Beatriz DeYcaza and Kristin Pelletier each scored second-half goals to lift the Braves to their first victory.
Deidra Ham and Melissa Achorn each added an assist for the 1-4 winners and Meg Taylor made two saves on six shots.
Noreen Marcino made 10 saves on 24 shots for 1-1 UMaine-Presque Isle.
Framingham St. 2, USM 1 (OT)
At Framingham, Mass., Saturday, Lisa Diamond directed a corner kick into the net to help the 3-0 Rams knock off the University of Southern Maine.
Devin Edwards scored the only goal for the 1-3 Huskies of Gorham off a pass from Jenny Boucher. Marcy Ansley and Rachel Kwantz combined to make five saves on 12 shots.
Bates 5, Colby 3
At Lewiston Saturday, Katie Carroll’s two goals helped the Bobcats hold off in-state rival Colby of Waterville.
Melissa Ostuni had a goal and an assist for 1-1 Bates while Catherine Crosby and Katey Szum added a goal each, with Kathleen Nugent and Dayle Grande dishing out an assist apiece. Kim Martell stopped two of eight shots.
Stephanie Hicks provided a goal and assist for the 1-1 White Mules. Kaitlin Herlihy and Kristin Schmidt added a goal each, and Elizabeth Riley rejected 14 of 29 shots.
Bay Path 2, Maine Maritime 0
At Castine Saturday, goals by Devin Van Holtz and Kerri Verdecchia led Bay Path College past Maine Maritime.
Stacy Hass got the shutout for 2-0 Bay Path of Longmeadow, Mass., stopping six of seven shots. Hillary Arris made nine saves on 11 shots for the 2-1-1 Mariners.
UMF 7, St. Joseph 0
At Farmington Saturday, Megan Woodcock and Stephanie Hiller each scored two goals as the 2-0 Beavers rolled past St. Joseph the Provider.
Richelle Dube, Jill Dunton, and Erin Conant each chipped in with a goal for UM-Farmington. Dube added two assists and Alyson Pontbriand had two saves.
Jayde Dufresne made 22 saves for 0-3 St. Joseph of Rutland, Vt.

At Johnson, Vt., Sunday, Megan Woodcock netted two goals and added an assist to lead UMaine-Farmington.

At Waterville Sunday, Angie Harrison and Michelle Frett scored two goals apiece to lead Bay Path of Longmeadow, Mass.
Denise Larochelle made six saves on six shots for the Wildcats.
Shauna Lessard made 10 saves on 16 shots for the Terriers.

Casey Cook provided a goal for 2-1 St. Joseph’s. Shana Howard and Cheryl Northrop combined to stop seven of eight shots.
Kristine Cyr knocked in a goal for the 1-3 Bengals. Whitney Zetergren made three saves on 13 shots.
Volleyball
Colorado 3, Maine 0
At Boulder, Colo., Sara Fredrickson had eight kills and four digs Saturday as the Buffaloes cruised to a 30-15, 30-15, 30-17 victory.
Allison Barnes added 27 assists and six kills for 6-4 Colorado.
Claire Poliquin racked up 10 kills and six digs for the 3-6 Black Bears. Carmen Gabriel had 19 assists and five digs. Leah Guidinger had eight kills and four digs.
Field hockey
Thomas 4, Wheelock 1
At Waterville Saturday, Dawn Holland scored two first-half goals to lift the Terriers by Wheelock of Boston.
Meredith Arute added two goals and an assist for the 1-1 winners. Jen Lane made six saves on eight shots.
Katie Elwood scored for Wheelock, and Karyn Thomas made 14 saves on 20 shots.
Maine sweeps Rhode Island
At Orono Sunday, Amie Dubois knocked in two goals to lead the Black Bears to a 4-0 victory over the Rams. Maine also earned a 4-0 victory in Saturday’s game against URI.
In Sunday’s game, Jana Ouellette and Karyn Mango each scored a goal. Mango added an assist. Colbey Smith made five saves on five shots for the 5-1 Bears.
Danielle Dangoia stopped 12 of 16 shots for the 0-5 Rams.
In Saturday’s game, Tara Bedard racked up two goals and two assists to lead UMaine. Jaye Lance made six saves on seven shots to earn the shutout. Kristy Ferran and Rachael Hilgar each added a goal.
Dangoia stopped 11 of 19 shots.
St. Joseph’s 3, Simmons 2 (OT)
At Standish, Kaitlyn Scott scored the game-winner 11:48 into sudden-death overtime to lift the Monks.
Davan Clawson scored two second-half goals during a St. Joseph’s rally. Lisa Ham and Scott each had an assist. Mary Tibbetts had nine saves.
Shanna Fuller led Simmons with a goal and an assist. Tiffany Collins had two saves.
