SHERMAN STATION – Katahdin had only nine players available Monday, but the Cougars still posted their first girls soccer victory of the season while beating Ashland 1-0.

Michelle Martin scored the game-winner off an assist from Krystal McMoarn with 29:18 left in the second half. Jayme Green made 11 saves on 14 shots for 1-6 Katahdin, which had two players out sick.

Ashley Nemer made three stops on 10 shots for the 1-5 Hornets.

Limestone 3, Fort Fairfield 2

At Fort Fairfield, Jacinda St. Pierre scored two goals and assisted on another to pace the Eagles.

Ashley Brooker provided a goal and an assist and Pearl Rider added two assists. Nikki Michaud made five saves on 17 shots for 5-4-1 Limestone.

Maranda Butler scored both of the Tigers’ goals to cut Limestone’s lead to 3-2. Dani Searles saved made seven saves on 16 shots for 3-6-1 Fort Fairfield.

Washburn 3, Easton 0

At Washburn, six players figured into the scoring as the Beavers blanked the Bears.

Amber Blakney, Tabitha Blakney and Liza Maynard scored one goal apiece for 5-6-1 Washburn. Kristi Fitzpatrick, Kaylee Winklemann and Anna Bartlett provided assists.

Jamie Abar made six saves on eight shots.

Korrin Patterson made 12 saves on 20 shots for 0-11 Easton.

Woodland 4, East Grand 2

At Woodland, Kaitlin Leeman and Alicia Vose each scored a goal and assisted on another for the Dragons.

Beth Covey and Erika Brown scored one goal each while Lauren Troiani made six saves on eight shots for 3-1 Woodland.

Amanda Godley and Allie McKay each scored a goal for the 1-1-1 Vikings of Danforth. Paula Osnoe made 11 saves on 28 shots.

Presque Isle 5, Houlton 0

At Presque Isle, Melissa Demerchant and Jessica Price combined for five saves on six shots as the Wildcats blanked the Shiretowners.

Missy White, Nicole McKenna, Katie Delong, Natasha Deschene and Ashley Berube each scored a goal for 4-3 Presque Isle. Marigan Bishop had two assists and Billi Blanchard added one.

Anna Lenentine made 18 saves on 25 shots for 3-6 Houlton.

Boys soccer

Washburn 2, Easton 1 (2OT)

At Washburn, Jim Vaughn knocked in the game-winner with 2:50 left in the second overtime to boost the Beavers.

Zack Bird scored for 7-2-3 Washburn with 2:50 left in regulation on a Seth Milton assist, forcing overtime. Jason Thompson made eight saves on 10 shots.

James Desmond scored with an assist from Nate Harris to give the 3-7-1 Bears a lead in the first half. Dan Warren made 14 saves on 20 shots.

Shead 5, Lubec 0

At Lubec, Tony Thurlow scored two goals to pace Shead of Eastport to victory.

Ben Maloney provided a goal and two assists for the Tigers, while James McDonald notched a goal and an assist. James Ramage had the other goal and Anthony Lewey also added an assist.

Darrin Constant made two saves on three shots.

Jordan Hall racked up 18 saves on 24 shots for Lubec.

Ashland 3, Katahdin 0

At Sherman Station, Bruce Oaks scored two goals to lead the Hornets to victory.

Kenny Lewin scored one goal while Brock Bessey and Jesse Good provided assists. Buck Pineau posted the shutout with 13 saves on 13 shots.

Matt Mehrhoff made 12 saves on 15 shots, including a stop on a penalty kick, for Katahdin.

Limestone 3, Central Aroostook 1

At Mars Hill, Kevin Wilcox and Karsten Bleech scored 90 seconds apart in the second half to help the Eagles beat the Panthers.

John Gomes scored the other goal for 6-2-1 Central Aroostook, which received assists from Billy Brown and Nate Beane. Jake Manner made nine saves on 15 shots.

Kyle Taylor scored on a Jon Boyd assist for 3-6-2 Central Aroostook. Adam Crew made nine saves on 13 shots.

Washington Academy 6, Calais 0

At Calais, Nenad Micic led Washington Academy’s scoring with three goals.

Whitney Stevens added a goal and two assists while Andy Walther and David Roth each scored a goal. Jason Labonte made five saves on 15 shots for the 2-1 Raiders of East Machias.

Devon McPhee made 12 saves on 19 shots for 1-4 Calais.

Madawaska 7, Wisdom 0

At St. Agatha, Steve Soucy scored two goals and assisted on another as the Owls rolled by the Pioneers.

Michael Arnold, Matt Lavertu, Miles Morneault, Billy Roy and Anders Sandquist had goals for 5-5-1 Madawaska and Jonathan Cowie stopped all five of the Pioneers’ shots.

Curtis Roy made 18 saves on 29 shots for 0-10 Wisdom.

So. Aroostook 4, East Grand 2

At Danforth, Zac Austin scored a goal and added an assist as the Warriors edged the Vikings.

Nate Porter, Griffin Hardy and Zack Montgomery each contributed a goal for Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook. Paul Suitter had an assist and Jeff Boutilier made 14 saves on 27 shots.

Darius Parker scored twice for East Grand. James Crone added an assist and Seth Preston made 17 saves on 24 shots.

Narraguagus 6, Woodland 3

At Harrington, Saben Rossi scored three goals to lead the Knights to victory.

Eric Pellitier added two goals and Cory Worster scored one. Jamie Bailey made 25 saves on 28 shots for 1-3-1 Narraguagus.

Jeremy Gillespie tallied two goals and Rick Roussel scored one for the Dragons. Aaron Moody made 11 saves on 20 shots for 2-3 Woodland.
