BELFAST – Transfer student Jason Farmer had a rude welcome Wednesday when someone stole his $1,500 bicycle as he registered at Belfast Area High School.
Patrolman Howard Dakin said Farmer, 18, discovered his bicycle was stolen about 11 a.m., minutes after registering for this school year.
The transfer student from Messalonskee High School in Oakland had ridden his Schwinn bicycle to school from his home on Cobb Road that morning.
“He left his bike out front and when he came out after filling out the papers, it was gone,” said Dakin.
The incident remained under investigation.
