Bates 2, Southern Maine 1
At Gorham, Becky Castle’s goal with eight minutes to play lifted the Bobcats past the Huskies.
Castle also added an assist on Dayle Grande’s goal for 2-1 Bates of Lewiston. Kim Martell made one save.
Andrea Maillett tallied an unassisted goal for 1-4 Southern Maine. Marcy Ansley rejected seven shots.
Colby 3, UM-Farmington 2 (OT)
At Waterville, Julie Brown’s goal 6:09 into overtime gave the White Mules the win over the Beavers.
Christine O’Donnell became the Colby women’s soccer all-time scoring leader with a goal in the fifth minute of the match when she scored off an assist from Kathryn Austgen. O’Donnell now has 34 goals and eight assists for 76 points, breaking the old mark of 74 set by Kim Waldron in 1999.
Kristen Schmidt also had a goal for 2-1 Colby and Elizabeth Riley stopped three of eight UM-Farmington shots.
Meagan Woodcock scored twice for the 3-1 Beavers and Alyson Pontbriand made 12 saves on 24 shots.
Gordon College 6, St. Joseph’s 0
At Standish, Lindsey Benson scored three goals as the Fighting Scots ran their record to 6-0 with a win over the Monks.
Kelly Stinson, Jill Bourget and Jessie Yackel also had goals for Gordon College of Wenham, Mass.
The Fighting Scots outshot the Monks 16-2.
Shanna Howard save 10 of the 16 shots she faced for 2-2 St. Joseph’s.
Men’s soccer
Colby 4, U-New England 0
At Biddeford, Jamie Yurek scored two goals as Colby rolled by U-New England.
Jamie Lue and Bobby Abendroth chipped in with a goal and an assist apiece for 3-0 Colby of Waterville.
Taylor Bemis recorded an assist and Andrew Danzinger and Brian Davidson combined to stop all four U-New England shots.
Justin Shirley had four saves on 14 Colby shots for the 1-2 Nor’Easters.
Unity 3, Maine Maritime 2
At Castine, Travis Bedard scored in the final minute of the match as the Rams remained undefeated with a win over the Mariners.
Tim Howland scored for the winners when he deflected an indirect kick off a defender and into the goal in the 36th minute and Sean Edwards gave 6-0 Unity a 2-0 lead with 17 minutes remaining in the match.
David Clark and Jason Snell combined to make six saves on 16 shots for the Rams.
Kevin Proctor of Bangor put the Mariners on the scoreboard with a goal with 12 minutes left. Derek Wilding tied the game with three minutes remaining in regulation when he converted a penalty kick.
Dan Loebel turned away four of the nine shots he faced for the 1-3 Mariners.
