BANGOR – Burl bowls, antique pillows, wreaths, maple syrup and braided rugs will be among the products for sale at The Maine Highlands Guild booth at the Bangor Antique and Giftware Show and Sale on Sept. 28 and 29 at the Spectacular Events Center.

The guild is a new arts-marketing organization designed to provide educational, promotional and sales opportunities for people producing art, crafts and traditional products in Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.

A nonprofit organization, the guild believes promoting local artists and craft-based businesses will spur local communities and economies to grow in a positive way. The guild currently has more than 50 members. Although the guild has participated in a number of promotional events during the past six months, the Bangor Antique and Giftware Show and Sale is the first sales show for guild members.

The guild will offer quality handmade, original and natural gifts for sale at the show. They will offer gift bags full of local products, such as local music compact discs, specialty foods, note cards, natural bath and body products, wreaths and candles.

For more information, contact Tracy Michaud Stutzman, executive director of the Maine Highlands Guild, at 564-0041 or e-mail at chet@pcedc.org.
