BOLTON, Mass. – Kebo Valley Golf Club assistant pro and Bradley resident Mike Baker grabbed the second round lead Wednesday of the New England Open being played at the International Golf Club.

Baker shot a 4-under par 68 on the Oaks Course, after a first-round 70 for a two-round total of 138. Baker has a two- shot lead over Ron Philo of the Country Club of Vermont and Todd Vernon of Greenwood Village, Colo.

Bob Darling Jr. of the Fox Ridge Golf Course in Auburn shot 73 and is eight strokes back at 146. Hampden native John Hickson, the teaching pro at Sunset Ridge Golf Course in Westbrook, is at 148 after a second-round 73.

The final round of the 54-hole tournament is today.
