SHERMAN STATION – Tyler Thompson scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Schenck Wolverines to a 3-2 schoolboy soccer victory over the Katahdin Cougars Friday.

Thompson assisted on a goal by Seth Johnson for the first score of the game before netting two unassisted goals of his own in the first half for a 3-1 lead. Mike Rossignol made 12 saves on 14 shots for Schenck.

Travis Robinson scored an unassisted goal in the first half for 0-7-1 Katahdin. He scored again in the second half on a penalty kick. Matt Mehrhoff made 15 saves on 18 shots.

Machias 1, Shead 0

At Eastport, Chris Correll tapped in the game-winning goal for Machias on a pass from Joe Richards to keep the Bulldogs undefeated.

Correll’s goal came with 7:13 remaining in regulation. Marcus Frutchey made eight saves to earn the shutout for the 4-0-1 Bulldogs.

Darrin Constant had four saves for 5-1 Shead.

Field hockey

Foxcroft 1, Old Town 0

At Old Town, Tamlyn Frederick scored on a Jess Burgoyne assist with 19 minutes left in the second half, giving the Ponies the margin of victory.

Megan Ryder made two saves on as many shots for 3-1-1 Foxcroft Academy.

Emilie Richard made 10 saves on 11 shots for 3-2-1 Old Town.

JV: Foxcroft 1-0

Central 5, Mattanawcook 0

At Lincoln, Heather Lyford scored two goals to lead Central of Corinth to victory.

Jodi Harvey provided a goal and two assists for the 5-0 Devils, while Lisa Brown and Jenny Rollins scored one goal each. Jenna Dauphinee made one save on five shots.

Colleen Cloran and Ashley Emery combined to make 18 saves on 38 shots for 2-3 Mattanawcook Academy.

JV: Mattanawcook 3-0

Girls soccer

Presque Isle 1, Nokomis 0

At Newport, Nicole McKenna scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 2:26 remaining in the first half.

McKenna scored the goal on a pass from Ashley Berube. Melissa DeMerchant stopped 11 of 20 shots for the 6-3 Wildcats. Tia Beauregard saved 10 of 18 shots for 2-1-1 Nokomis.

JV: Presque Isle 2-0

Hermon 2, MDI 0

At Hermon, Shannon Dobbins stopped all nine shots she faced to earn her first shutout of the season as the Hawks blanked MDI.

Jessie Wiggin scored on a Cassie White assist in the first half and White scored on a Wiggin assist in the second half to provide the scoring for 1-3-1 Hermon.

Jaime Daugherty blocked 14 of 16 shots for MDI.

Searsport 2, George Stevens 0

At Blue Hill, Jessica Plourde and Jessica Wilson each scored as Searsport won its fourth game this season.

Wilson and Plourde each scored unassisted goals. Moe Hall stopped four shots for 4-1 Searsport.

Liz Tyler had three saves for 1-3-0 George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.

Schenck 2, Central 0

At Corinth, Schenck’s Megan Carey held the Central Red Devils scoreless as the Wolverines moved to .500 at 3-3.

Laura Davis and Jessica Day each scored unassisted goals for Schenck of East Millinocket. Day scored on a corner kick.

Nicole Daniel had 10 saves for 1-2-2 Central of Corinth.

Penquis 4, Penobscot Valley 2

At Milo, Erin Beasley scored three goals to lead the Patriots to victory. Shannon Gerrish added the fourth goal with a Jenn Hussey assist.

Amanda Martin blocked 10 of 16 shots for Penquis.

Ashley Dawson and Erica Snape each scored a goal for the Howlers. Jen Plourde stopped 17 of 23 shots.

Dexter 5, Deer Isle-Stonington 1

At Deer Isle, Dorie Kramer scored two goals with one assists to lead the Tigers.

Lindsay Turner added a goal with three assists for 5-1 Dexter while Sarah Turner and Sabrina Cote each scored a goal, and Ashley Foster had an assist. Daphne Robichaud saved four of six shots.

Kourtney Larsen scored for 0-3-1 DI-S and Christina Fifield stopped 26 of 41 shots.

Calais 2, Woodland 2 (OT)

At Calais, Kaitlyn Leeman converted a pass from Alicia Vose with 6:57 remaining to enable Woodland to tie Calais.

Calais is now 2-1-2 while Woodland is 2-0-1.

Traci Eagan scored a goal off a Danielle Feck pass and then assisted on Lindsay Taylor’s score as Calais took a pair of one-goal leads. Erika Brown equalized after Eagan’s goal and Leeman answered Taylor’s goal.

Calais’ Darcey Gillespie made 17 saves while counterpart Tiffany Wormell had seven stops.

East Grand 4, Easton 0

At Danforth, Amanda Godley’s three goals and one assist led East Grand to victory.

Godley assisted on a goal by Marie Gilman in the first half before scoring three unassisted goals in the second half. Her final two goals were 10 seconds apart.

Paula Osnoe had seven saves for 2-1-1 East Grand of Danforth. Jessica Ferris blocked 14 shots for 0-12 Easton.

Ashland 3, Wasburn 0

At Ashland, Amber Smith scored a pair of goals and Jessica Jacques scored just 3:19 into the game as Ashland avenged a 3-1 loss suffered earlier this season.

Cora Campbell assisted on Jacques’ game-opening goal and Heather Carney picked up an assist on Smith’s first goal later in the half. Ashley Nemer made five saves for the 2-6 Hornets.

Jamie Abar made 13 saves on 33 shots for 5-7-1 Washburn.

Narraguagus 3, Shead 1

At Harrington, Missy Barbee scored Narraguagus’ first two goals with assists from Jen Strout and Amanda Cirone.

Stout added a third goal on a penalty kick with 1:18 left in the first half. Alicia Tenney stopped 15 of 16 shots for 4-1 Narraguagus.

Samantha Davis scored Shead’s goal with 35:51 left in the first half with an assist by Laureta Ricker. Roliza DeWitt saved nine of 12 shots for 1-2-1 Shead.
