BANGOR – Area residents will have an opportunity to tour a pair of vintage World War II airplanes beginning today through Sunday at Bangor International Airport. A B-17 Flying Fortress and a B-24 Liberator will be on display at Bangor Aviation Services.

Thursday’s tour hours are 3:30-6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday tours will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

A donation of $7 per adult and $3 for children is requested. The fee includes a tour of both aircraft. Thirty-minute flight opportunities are available for $350. For information call 978-562-9182.

The two four-engine aircraft served as the backbone of American air power during WWII in both the European and Pacific theaters.
