Goal in final seconds lifts Schenck

EAST MILLINOCKET – Lindsay Nicholson scored off a rebound with four seconds left in the game to give Schenck a 2-1 schoolgirl soccer victory over Houlton on Thursday.

Cortney McLaughlin had tied the game for Schenck when she scored unassisted with 2:24 left in the game. Megan Carey made seven saves on eight shots for the 5-3 winners.

Claire Thompson scored an unassisted goal for 3-7 Houlton with 3:52 left in the first half, and goalie Anna Lenentine finished with 19 saves on 23 shots.

Hermon 2, John Bapst 1

At Hermon, Jessie Wiggin tallied a goal plus an assist to spark the 3-3-1 Hawks.

Megan Watson added a goal for Hermon. Shannon Dobbins made 11 saves on 12 shots.

Lily Krichels scored off a pass from Katie Anderle for the 2-5 Crusaders of Bangor. Ashley Cluff stopped seven out of nine shots.

JV: John Bapst 2-1

Nokomis 5, Brewer 2

At Brewer, Lindsey Welch scored two goals to lead Nokomis of Newport past the Witches.

Kristina Gonzalez, Amy Preble, and Beth Bragdon each scored a goal for the 3-3-1 Warriors. Tia Beauregard made 10 saves on 24 shots.

Stacie Bean and Melissa Jacobs each scored for the 2-5 Witches while Katie Harris and Stephanie Dickey saved six of 21 shots.

Bangor Christian 2, Central 1

At Corinth, Becky Fortier scored the game-winner on a direct kick from 25 yards out to give the 4-2-1 Patriots the win.

Kelly Miller tallied an unassisted goal for the winners and Pam Reitsma made 14 saves on 15 shots.

Nicole Logue scored the lone goal for the 1-4-2 Red Devils. Nicole Daniel stopped 13 of 17 shots.

Lee 7, Penobscot Valley 0

At Lee, Shelby Pickering scored three goals and assisted on another as the Pandas improved to 7-0.

Cassandra Thompson contributed a pair of goals with Kristen Hersom and Melissa Hanscom adding the other goals. Marci Mooers had an assist and Ashlee Gifford made eight saves.

Nancy Hallett and Jen Plourde combined for 16 saves for 2-5 Penobscot Valley of Howland.

Bangor 3, Ellsworth 0

At Bangor, Jenn Towne had a goal and an assist to help lead the Bangor Rams to the win.

Goalie Ilyse Angst made five saves on seven shots for her fourth shutout. Laura Clarke and Jessie Roberts each scored a goal for the 5-1-1 Rams. Lauren Quaglia and Megan Clifford each had an assist.

Victoria Jones made 15 saves on 29 shots for the 2-4 Eagles.

JV: Bangor 5-0

Hampden 4, Orono 1

At Hampden, Erin Campbell led the way for the Broncos with a goal and three assists.

Tyne Franchi scored two goals and Danielle Billings added one. Alyssa Forrest assisted on a goal. Gabby Schrage saved six of seven shots.

Lauren Young scored unassisted for the Red Riots. Marie Lint and Joelle Klingerman teamed up for 16 saves on 22 shots.

JV: Hampden 4-0

Bucksport 5, Foxcroft 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, five different players scored to spark the Golden Bucks.

Elissa Gordon, Shaina Goode and Brittany Damon each tallied a goal plus an assist for 7-0-1 Bucksport. Stacy Lozier and Nichole Pacheco had a goal each. Liz Gomm made one save on three shots.

Ashley Marsden stopped 16 out of 39 shots for the 0-7-1 Ponies.

Searsport 2, George Stevens 1

At Searsport, Jessica Plourde and Jessica Wilson knocked in a goal each to lead the 5-0-1 Vikings.

Sara Glidden and Nicole Kito had an assist each for Searsport. Mo Hall made eight saves on 11 shots.

Brandi Winters notched an unassisted goal for the 2-4 Eagles of Blue Hill. Liz Tyler rejected 14 out of 23 shots.

Mount View 5, Rockland 1

At Thorndike, Violet Soisson racked up three goals, giving her seven in the last three games after returning from an ankle injury.

Holly Whitcomb and Molly Houser had a goal each for the 3-4 Mustangs. Megan Rehmeyer made five saves on six shots.

Anna Curley tallied a goal for the 0-7 Tigers. Jessica Clark rejected 12 out of 19 shots.

JV: Mount View 2-1

Belfast 4, Winslow 0

At Belfast, Emily Biscone tallied two goals as the Lions improved to 6-1.

Lindsey Bryant and Rosie Hughes had a goal each for Belfast and Katie Nickerson dished out an assist. Emily Worth and Bryna Harrington stopped all four shots they faced.

Sarah Roderigue made six saves on eight shots for the 4-2 Black Raiders.

Boys soccer

Sumner 2, Narraguagus 1

At East Sullivan, Christian Knoeler’s goal off a Roger Sargent pass with 18 minutes left in the game gave the Tigers the winning edge over the Knights of Harrington.

Will Seyffer scored the first goal for 3-5-1 Sumner off an assist from Knoeler. Juan Carlos made nine saves on 17 shots.

Gabe Checker converted a Saben Rossi pass for a goal for Narraguagus, now 2-5-1. Eric Pelletier finished with 21 saves on 32 shots.

Nokomis 2, Brewer 1

At Newport, David Buzanoski converted a penalty kick in overtime to give the Warriors the victory.

A Nokomis player was taken down inside the 18-yard line to set up the penalty kick. Matt Fraser tied the game at 1-1 with just 3:13 left in regulation when he scored off a pass from Buzanoski.

Mike Jacques made eight saves on 12 shots for the 4-3-1 winners.

Joey Caron scored an unassisted goal with 30 minutes left in the game for 3-3-1 Brewer and Matt Quimby finished with 13 saves on 21 shots.

JV: Brewer 3-0

John Bapst 1, Old Town 0

At Old Town, Colby Theriault’s goal from the top of the box with 13:16 to play in the game gave the 3-4-1 Crusaders of Bangor the win.

Rick Hathaway made 13 saves on 20 shots to get the shutout. Tyler Tracewski rejected six out of 14 shots for the 5-3 Indians.

MDI 3, Orono 0

At Orono, Richard Hilliard and Kyle Jones each had a goal plus an assist in the victory for the Trojans.

Alex Galo added a goal for 4-3-1 Mount Desert Island. Adam Thurston stopped all four shots he faced.

Evan James rejected seven out of 10 shots for the 2-4-1 Red Riots.

JV: MDI 4-1

Field hockey

Hampden 5, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Katherine Lumino and Sarah Peters tallied two goals each as the 4-3 Broncos rolled.

Christie Mosley added a goal for Hampden. Carolyn Samp and Hannah Thiemi stopped all 15 shots they faced.

Meagan McCready made 19 saves on 24 shots for the 0-7 Hawks.

JV: Hampden 2-0

Brewer 2, Bangor 0

At Brewer, Carolyn McAvoy’s two goals propelled the Witches past cross-river rival Bangor.

Tricia Hamm and Vanessa Michaud had an assist each for 2-5 Brewer. Sarah England stopped all five shots she faced.

Bonnie Case made six saves on eight shots for the 2-5 Rams.

JV: Bangor 1-0
