PRESQUE ISLE – A daylong conference aimed at benefiting community businesses throughout the area will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

The sixth annual conference titled, “Employment Law and Human Resources Conference Center,” is sponsored by the Northeast Society for Human Resources Management.

It is geared toward managers, supervisors, small business owners, executives and human resource professionals. Topics will include worker’s compensation, creativity in the workplace and retaining employees.

A healthcare panel discussion also will be presented by Eric Jeryman, Blue Cross and Blue Shield; Michael Brannigan, Maine Hospital Association; and Peter Gore, Maine Chamber of Commerce.

The cost of the seminar is $65 for the day, which includes lunch, or $60 per person if more than one person from an organization attends. The registration deadline is Oct. 4.
