WOODLAND – Abraham Beal and Ben Durkee scored 6:40 apart early in the second half to erase a 1-0 deficit and lift the Jonesport-Beals Royals by Woodland 2-1 for their first win in schoolboy soccer action Monday.
Martin Alley assisted on Durkee’s game-winner, coming with 30:31 remaining. Ross Griffin made 19 saves on 21 shots for the 1-4-2 Royals.
Ben Leighton scored for 4-5 Woodland and Aaron Moody made 15 saves on 18 shots.
Washington Acad. 3, Shead 2
At Eastport, Nenad Miric scored the game-winning goal with 3:40 to go in the second over time to give 6-1 Washington Academy the win.
Whitney Stevens scored the Raiders’ first goal with an assist from Andy Walther and Walther went on to score their second goal. Jason Labonte stopped 10 of 16 shots.
Jason Bones scored 7-2 Shead’s first goal with 29:14 remaining in the first half and Teddy Cummings scored their second goal. Darin Constant made nine saves on 12 shots.
Narraguagus 7, Lubec 1
At Harrington, Gabe Checker and Kyle Tenney each scored two goals to lead 3-5-1 Narraguagus.
Jamie Moorhouse, Saben Rossi, and Jon Albe each added a goal for the winners. Shelby Bright, Cory Worcester, and Jamie Bailey all had one assist. Bailey, Lester Burgess, and Josh Look combined to stop 14 of 15 shots.
Chris Jones scored 0-7 Lubec’s goal unassisted and Jordan Hall saved 18 of 33 shots.
Girls soccer
Hermon 2, Houlton 1
At Hermon Saturday, Jessie Wiggin slipped a 20-yarder inside the near post with 23 minutes left to gave Hermon its fourth win against three losses and a tie. Houlton fell to 3-8.
Alisa Petrello scored in the first half off a Gillian Miller pass but Houlton’s Jenna Potter equalized.
Shannon Dobbins made nine saves for the Hawks while Amie McFarland had 12 stops for the Shires.
Lee 9, Southern Aroostook 0
At Dyer Brook, Shelby Pickering scored four goals and assisted on two to help the Pandas improve to 8-1.
Marci Moors added two goals and an assist for the Pandas and Jenny Stevens notched a goal and an assist. Ashlee Gifford and Jessie Kuester each added a goal and Gifford and Ashley Jandreau combined for two saves on two shots.
For 3-6 SAHS, Crystal Cameron made nine saves on 22 shots.
Central 1, Foxcroft 0
At Corinth, Nicole Daniel stopped 10 of 12 shots, including a point-blank shot with 30 seconds left in the game, to earn the shutout for the Red Devils.
Sadie Chretien netted the game-winner with 7:20 remaining in the first half. Nicole Logue assisted on the goal for 3-4-2 Central.
Ashley Marden made 11 saves on 13 shots for the 0-7-1 Ponies.
Dexter 5, Deer Isle-Stonington 0
At Dexter, Lindsay Turner scored two goals and assisted on one to carry the Tigers to victory.
Sarah Turner, Lindsay’s twin sister, chipped in with a goal and an assist and Sabrina Cote added a goal with three assists for the 8-1 Tigers. Emily Whalen also scored a goal and Daphne Robichaud made eight saves on 10 shots.
Christina Fifield made 18 saves on 23 shots for 0-7-1 DI-S.
