Pelletier paces Husson past Saint Joseph’s 5-2

BANGOR – Kristin Pelletier scored two goals Monday to lead Husson College to a 5-2 women’s soccer victory over Saint Joseph’s College of Standish. Beatriz DeYcaza and Melissa Achorn each chipped in with a goal and an assist for the 3-6 Braves.

BANGOR – Kristin Pelletier scored two goals Monday to lead Husson College to a 5-2 women’s soccer victory over Saint Joseph’s College of Standish.

Beatriz DeYcaza and Melissa Achorn each chipped in with a goal and an assist for the 3-6 Braves.

Deidra Ham added a goal and Erin Pelletier notched an assist while Meg Taylor made eight saves on 11 shots.

Kelly Cyr scored two goals for the 2-5 Monks, one unassisted and the other off a penalty kick. Shauna Howard made six saves and Cheryl Northrup had two saves as they faced 17 total shots.

Men’s soccer

Southern Maine 2, UNE 0

At Biddeford, sophomore Andy Budelman scored both goals in the second half for 3-3-1 University of Southern Maine. Ian Frank and Taylor Lance assisted the goals. Dan Hills stopped four shots for the Huskies of Gorham.

Justin Shirley made 11 saves for 2-5 University of New England.

St. Joseph’s 3, Maine Maritime 3

At Standish, Pete Bettinger assisted the first goal and scored the final goal to give Saint Joseph’s College the victory.

Michael Erickson scored a goal and had an assist and Joe Valente added a goal for the Monks. Jeff Yaeger made four saves.

Wels Baker scored Maine Maritime Academy’s goal with an assist from Derek Wilding. Josh McLellan stopped 10 shots for the Mariners of Castine.
