Heritage Center plans open house, reception

CALAIS – An open house reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Downeast Heritage Center’s new storefront office location at 175 Main St.

The event will provide the public with the opportunity to meet Marc Edwards, the new executive director, and to learn about progress being made to make the Downeast Heritage Center a reality. With the final piece of construction funding in place, the project has been put out to bid for construction, with bids due Oct. 17. A contract should be awarded shortly thereafter.
