A new regular feature has been added to The Weekly. As you will see on Page 11 this week, we are beginning to run real estate transfers for The Weekly’s coverage area.

The information – buyer and seller, the towns where they live, the address of the property, and the sale price – comes from Sales Tax Declaration forms which are filed with the state, then sent on to the town or city. The street address itself comes from municipal records. All of the information is public. How soon it becomes available varies from one community to the next.

We will begin with Bangor, then will add transfers from other communities as time and space permit. We hope you find this new feature interesting and informative.
